MRCS A: Maxillofacial Surgery
Join us for the next talk of our MRCS A teaching series. Miss Susan Murray currently works as a CST2 in T&O in the West of Scotland. She is a dual qualified trainee having graduated in both dentistry and medicine. Susan has worked in OMFS for over 12 years in a variety of roles up and down the country. Susan holds an honorary clinical fellow post with the University of Glasgow and has been involved in postgraduate teaching at a National level with NES run courses. Susan hopes to provide the you with the basics on head and neck that is a topic medics find particularly challenging given its breadth and limited teaching in.

Mastering the MRCS Part A
Come join us to hear more about the MRCS Part A exam that is required for most surgical specialties - structure of the exam and tips and tricks for studying within your busy schedule!

We have two FY2s who are both working in Aberdeen Royal Infirmary in Trauma and Orthopaedics, who have very impressively completed not only Part A but also Part B during their FY1 year. This will be a great opportunity to ask any questions!

MRCS Part A: Orthopaedic Lower Limb Anatomy
Speaker: Mr Mina Farag (MBChB, MRCGP)
Mr Farag is currently a Senior Clinical Fellow in Trauma and Orthopaedics at Wishaw General Hospital. He completed Core Surgical Training in the East of Scotland including rotations in Plastics, General Surgery and Trauma and Orthopaedics. He previously obtained CCT in General Practice before making a career shift to T&O.
He is also an Honorary Teaching Fellow at the University of Dundee and is passionate about teaching.

Surgical Skills Symposium
Interested in practicing and refining your surgical skills? FTSS North of Scotland are delighted to be announcing that we will be hosting a surgical skills symposium!
To all you aspiring surgeons out there, should you be a complete newbie or someone looking to build upon your surgical skills, this event is just for you! We will be practicing basic surgical techniques, chest drain insertion, vessel anastomosis, and you will get to excise a sebaceous cyst. All for only £10.
We will be running this event on May 27, 2023 from 09:00 - 14:00 at the MacGillivray Conference Room at Aberdeen Maternity Hospital.
Certificates of participation will be awarded for your portfolio.
